Labor Day weekend

We spent the Labor Day weekend in Roscoe with Papa and Nana Blackman.  Katie, Shane and Emma were here from Muscatine and Brad, Britni, Zoe and Haley from Valentine.  Cami, Mike, Morgan and Chase came from Seward too.

Packing up to go.  We loaded up everything but the kitchen sink.

We celebrated Emmas, Papa Carsons and Nathans birthdays while we were there.

Grandma Joyce made Nathans cake.

We think Matthew got too hot while outside playing.  He ended up getting sick and we were preparing to take him to the hospital, but he seemed to feel better after getting a lot of fluids and cooling down.

Tonight we were able to do something we have talked about for a few years.  Luke has talked about wanting to be a pilot since he was in preschool.  We've always said the only way to really know if he wants to do it is to get him in an airplane.  Jared's good friend Wally offered to take them up for a little while.

Walking out to Wally's plane.  They decided to take the three oldest.  Jake will have a turn when he is a little older.

Nate getting in.

Matthew's turn.

Getting ready to take off.

They were going to take turns and take Matthew and Nathan first.  Well, as they started to leave Matthew freaked out and they stopped and let him off and Luke got in.

Luke getting buckled in.

Matthew went with me and we played on the fighter jet that was sitting out there and then we watched them take off.

The rest of the pictures are the ones Jared took in the plane.

Matthew wanting his Mom.

I'm not sure what Nate thought at that moment... but he was all smiles when he got home.

Luke in and ready to go.

When they got home Nathan told me that we need to get two airplanes.  I think we might have created two pilots.

First Day of Preschool

Today was the first day of Preschool for both Matthew and Nathan.  Nathans 3 year old class is in the morning.  Today was also Nathans 4th birthday.

Ready to go...

Following big brother Luke.

He found cars!  He was so excited!

He got all kinds of fun stuff because it was his birthday.

This morning while trying to get Nathan off to school, Matthew started getting upset.  He was afraid he wouldn't be able to go to school.  He thought he should go with Luke and Nathan.  So, after reassuring him constantly, it was finally his turn.

Well, by the time we made it to the school he was starting to have second thoughts about school.  He wouldn't leave my side and he didn't want Nathan to leave.  He wanted to go to school with Nathan.  They finally got him to leave my side, but as I was walking to the car with Nathan I could hear him screaming.  I took Nate home and called the school and he was still really upset.  So, I went back to the school and sat with him for 2 hours.  He finally started to feel comfortable and when they went outside for recess I was able to leave.  I was very relieved because I was starting to think I was going to be a new member of the preschool class.

A very happy Matthew when I went to pick him up.  Needless to say the entire school knew he had a tough time today.

Much more comfortable in his classroom.

Luke being the best big brother.  He was so sweet after school.  I think he felt really bad for Matthew.

Both boys made these mouse ears in class.  Nathan was trying to shove Matthew out of the picture.  It's nice to see that even though they hardly saw each other all day they still fight like they always have!  :)

We are heading to McCook tonight to take the boys on an airplane ride and out to eat for Nathans birthday since I didn't get his cupcakes made today.  I have a lot more to post from the last several weeks... so check back soon.
