We are a zoo.

Our house is crazy sometimes. I would like to say it's because we have three boys and another on the way, but that isn't always the reason for the chaos. I was pulling weeds in my garden the other night and was surprised to see the girl we got the cats from pull in the alley. Jared talked to her for a few minutes and then walks away with a crate. I walked over and there were four little kittens looking up at me. I think the guy who likes everyone to believe he hates cats has become a cat lover. Now we have four kittens running around. They are cute and hopefully at least one of them survives the winter. I already picked out my favorite!

Then as he was mowing the kids play area I noticed he had stopped and was looking around. My first thought was that he found a snake. I went out to see if he needed assistance in finding it and killing it when I realized he had something small and furry in his hand. He ran over a rabbits nest. There were four, but one didn't make it. I'm not sure if they are old enough to survive. They are pretty small, but I'm sure the Blackman zoo will do what they can! If anyone wants a rabbit please let me know!!!

BOY!!

Yes, you read that right! It's a boy! We are pretty sure because he was showing off. All of my boys like to show off on that ultra sound. We are excited and looking forward to the challenge of raising four boys!!!

I'll post ultra sound pictures after I get them downloaded. I also have a video if I can figure out how to download it.

One more day...

Well, tomorrow is the big day! The polls will close tomorrow at 10. We are finally going to find out if we are having a boy or girl. Thank you, everyone for giving your opinions. At this time 87% of you think it is a girl. Either you all have great intuition or it is a lot of wishful thinking! =)

I'm sticking with my original guess of it being a boy. I change my mind every two weeks, so it is about time for me to change my mind again. Jared has always sworn it's a girl, so we'll see whose right.

As far as names go, Abigail is winning the girls spot with Jaycee right behind. On the boys side of it, Jacob and Jonathan are tied. We might try to do another poll for the name after we find out what we are having. So, stay tuned and check in tomorrow!

What's your opinion?

Well, having kids so close together sets us up to hear everyones opinion on our growing family. It is normal to hear someones opinion on a daily basis. So, we are giving you all a chance to let us know what you think. As most of you know, the poll won't affect our decision. We're just hoping once everyone votes and makes their opinion known they might leave us alone about it! =) Just kidding. We don't let it bother us at all. We probably wouldn't know what to do if someone wasn't telling us we are crazy!

To help everyone out I thought I would let you know what Jared and I think... Jared thinks its a girl and I think its a boy. Sorry we couldn't be better help! Small update.

I know everyone has been wondering about Luke's first day of school, so I thought I would update everyone.
Luke was a little nervous when we got to school on Friday. Jared and I were both able to be there to drop him off. He was pretty quiet until one of his friends got there and then he was off to go talk to them. When I picked him up from the bus he was really excited and talked my ear off. He had a great day. He was really excited to get back today. He even went to bed really well last night.
Matthew went from a big boy bed back to a crib. We tried it for three nights and then decided it was a bit early. He was getting up and playing until 11 every night. We tried several different things, but in the end nothing worked.
Nathan is working on getting his two top teeth. They are so close to being in. He really likes to do what the other two boys are doing. He's also enjoying some alone time with Mommy now that Luke is in school.
I have been busy. The kids keep me on my toes. Luke's first day of school was harder on me than I like to admit. I blame it on being pregnant and all the lovely hormones. I think it will take me a while to adjust to him not being home everyday.
Jared has been busy as usual. He wouldn't know what to do if he didn't have some kind of project to do.
We have decided we aren't going to adopt anymore cats. Our little kitty, Frosty, disappeared early last week. We haven't seen her in about a week. Pooch broke her leg some how and after a week of Jared doctoring her, she died on Friday. It is the first cat that Jared buried. Luke and him made a cross for it.
I guess that is all for now. We hope everyone enjoyed their summer!

Nathan is keeping me busy today. He is getting his top two teeth right now, so he hasn't been napping very well. He really enjoyed playing in my kitchen though.

Someone asked the other day if Nathan and Matthew were twins, and so I decided it was time for Matthew to have a haircut. He looks like such a big boy!

Our cats...

Jared really never has liked cats. In fact since I have known him he has shown a huge dislike for the poor animals. This all changed when we found the two wild cats by the garage. One of them died and now he is on a quest to find "Pooch" a friend. The Friday before Luke's birthday he came in the house with our newest addition to the family. Her name at the moment is Frosty.

I want to say Congrats to Scotty and Vanessa on expecting a baby girl! They just found out today. I had a pretty good feeling they were having a girl!

Another crazy week!

It's been another crazy week at the Blackman's Zoo!!

Here is a picture of my new oven. I absolutely love having two ovens and I don't know how I survived without both of them for so long. I have truly enjoyed baking again for the first time in a long time. On Tuesday I made 2 loaves of Zucchini bread, Zucchini brownies and Zucchini Oat Bars in the afternoon. I also had supper in the other oven the entire time I was baking. Nathan got to hang out with me and "help" me. My Mom had the other two boys playing at her house.

I went to give Nathan a bath the other night and decided to add a lot of bubbles to see what he would do. The next thing I knew Matthew was trying to get in the tub. I was very shocked since he runs from the bathroom every time he hears the water running. We put him in and he had a blast. He even let Luke pour water over his head. Yesterday he took two baths and this morning it was the first thing he wanted to do! I wish we would have thought of bubbles sooner!

Luke got to open his gifts from Jared and I on his actual birthday. I think he had a pretty good birthday, except he was sick all day! He is feeling much better now.

He stopped eating all baby food when he was 7 months old and we have spent a lot of money trying to find something he could eat. Then out of no where he started to eat real food. Now he eats all day!! I have a feeling it could get hard to feed these three boys as they get older! Their appetites are insatiable!!
