Matthew's birthday party.
Matthew's birthday party was a huge success. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. The party started at 2 and we were still sitting around visiting at 8 last night. Jared made prime rib for supper and it was awesome!!
Matthew recruited Sarah to read his card. He wanted to make sure everyone was in on the gift action. After this, chaos broke out and all the kids were opening presents. Matthew didn't care- I think he enjoys chaos.
Luke was "helping" with presents. Peyton was waiting until someone set something down so she could open it.

Updating previous posts...
I realized I am bad about updating on previous posts. So, this is just an update to most of the previous posts from the summer.
First, the cats have all disappeared. It took 2 days for all 4 cats to either die or go MIA. We have absolutely no idea what the deal is, and at the moment we have decided to not get any more cats.
The bunnies also started to disappear. One went missing in the middle of the night. The next night another one was gone. Finally we put the cage in the garage and the third one stuck around for quite awhile. We finally let him go a few weeks ago. He was really excited and ran to a patch of grass and started eating.
This means we are down to one pet... Miss Kitty. She has been with us for 8 years now and she better not plan to go anywhere. Our luck with other pets hasn't been very good.
My garden was a great new hobby for me. The tomboy in me loves to be outside and work in the dirt. I found it all very rewarding and still plan to go bigger next year. I have a list of things I want to plant and a few I will do differently. It was a nice learning experience and I loved the satisfaction of eating something that I grew.
I had posted a poll giving everyone an opportunity to tell us how many kids we should have. It was fun to see what everyone thought!! To be perfectly honest I don't think Jared and I have any clue how many we want. Every time I get pregnant we go into it with the attitude that it is the last one. Luke was going to be an only child after all!!! I hate to admit it, but when Nathan was two months old I was already having baby fever. I absolutely love having kids and I love to see their pesonalities develop and to watch them learn and grow. I'm not sure I will ever be ready to stop having kids. I can't believe I just admitted that!!
I decided in order to make a decision that is best for everyone we needed to talk to the kids and see what their opinion is. Luke started out telling us he wants two more sisters and another brother. Matthew really didn't voice his opinion. I gave him several options and he just stared at me. I took this as a way for him to say NO MORE!! I could be wrong though. Nathan on the other hand seemed really excited about the idea of more. Either that or he wanted his bottle. So, we went back a few weeks later and asked Luke again. His answer this time scared me a little. "I want 38." Luke answers.
"You want 38, what?" I ask.
"38 brothers and sisters!!"
Ok, well although I love children, I really don't want to send 38 kids to college. So much for letting the boys help us with the decision.
Then my brother sent me a link to Discovery.com and a family who just had their 17th kid. I went to Jared and told him I thought we could handle that. I told him if they quit having kids we could catch up with them. Afterall, we already technically have 6 kids. (Kenna, Luke, Matthew, Maya, Nathan and Baby B.) I don't think Jared was too excited about this idea. So, I guess we go back to the drawing board. Needless to say, I don't even think we know how many future Blackman children there will be. This might be the last one, or their might be another 32 on the way! Only time will tell!!
The final update involves diapers. After spending at least one afternoon a week cleaning up poop in Matthew's crib and walls, we were on a quest to find something to stop him from taking his diaper off. We had a lot of advice and tried everything!!! Nothing worked. We finally decided to try the duct tape. Sure enough it works better than anything else. He will still manage to get the diaper off once in a while, but for the most part, it works better than anything else.
It looks like we figured it out just in time too, because Nathan has started to take his diaper off. We don't dare lay either one down for a nap without putting a little duct tape on! It works!! Now, if I could just figure out why they take the diaper off to begin with!!

Last week...
Another week has passed and I realized I haven't posted in a while. Things here have been really hectic. The guys got home late Saturday night. Matthew wasn't asleep yet and Jared went up and got him out of bed. Needless to say, he didn't want to go back to bed. It is good to have everyone home.
Luke was sleeping when Jared got Kenna on Friday. Here she is trying to wake him up.
