RSV

On Thursday, we took Abby and Jacob to their check-ups in North Platte.  As we were eating I noticed Abby's cold was getting much worse.  We went to her appointment and found out she has RSV.   They ended up admitting her to the hospital.  Thankfully Jared was able to take Jacob home and I stayed at the hospital with Abs.  Jared's Mom came to stay with me and help me out.  She was a huge life saver.  Between her IV (which was not fun at all) and just not feeling well we couldn't lay her down at all that evening and night.  Finally the next day we were able to lay her down for a few minutes.

God answered prayers and we are back home and doing well.  She had a doctor's appointment this morning and he said she is doing good and we can do her breathing treatments as needed.  Thank you to everyone who sent me messages while we were in the hospital!

I've seen on other people blogs where they do short takes.  These consist of little things that you don't think deserve a post of their own, but worth mentioning at the same time.  I thought about what my short takes my consist of.  Here is a small sample-

1.  Jared is pretty sure we need a nanny for just Jacob.  I've been trying to tell him this for over a year.  He is such a smart kid and he loves to get in trouble.  It's true.  He gets this funny little smile on his face when he has been naughty.  The thing is- this is one of the things I love the most about him!  While trying to find a form of discipline that works with him I also admire his attitude.  Now, if I could just figure it out!

2.  Potty training isn't for wimps.  It also takes up about 3/4 of your day!

3. Having three boys potty trained is showing me what is in store for me for the next 18 + years.  Boys are NOT good shots.  I dread to think about how much time I will spend cleaning the floor and around the toilets.

4.  Fixing the hair of a 9 month old little girl is going to take practice and a lot of patience.

A new project.

After watching the coverage of Haiti a group of us decided to do something.  You can read about it here...

The name of it is Andrew and Maya's "Angel Baby Project".  What an amazing way to honor our children than to help those in need!

Random stuff

 More dancing in the kitchen...

 Hanging out with Grandma Elaine.

Jacob really likes his sleep.  The other day he decided to make himself a bed at the foot of the stairs.

Jacob got into my cupboard the other day and started eating the lasagna noodles.

I have no idea what Jake is doing.  He crawled under Abby's play thing and was hanging out there.

Of course it can't be a normal week without Luke starting us off with some kind of sickness.  He started us off with the flu on Sunday night.  After being sick all night he managed to eat late Monday.  Of course everyone started getting it then.  On Tuesday night  Matthew, Nathan and Jacob all ended up with it at the same time.  Poor guys.  Jared ended up with it Thursday night and Friday morning.  So far Abby and I have dodged it.  I am glad.  From what I saw it is one nasty bug!

Jake's birthday

Jake turned 2 on December 29th.  I made him a birthday cake to celebrate the day of his birthday.

We had to blow the candles out more than once so everyone could get a chance.

 My 2 year old!

The Saturday following Jake's birthday we threw him a birthday party.

 Hanging out with Uncle Mike.

 Abby hanging out with Morgan.

Tiffany Bley made his birthday cake and it was awesome!!  It fit Jacob perfectly!  For anyone who can't read it, the truck on the side says "The Destroyer".  :)

 Hanging out waiting for cake.

The kids crack me up in this picture.

 Yum!

By the end of the party Jacob was very tired, so he crawled up in Cassie's lap and fell asleep.

Caleb and Abby came over to hang out for a little while.

 Abby loves Caleb.

Nana and Grandma Joyce relaxing before the party.
